ACC weekend preview: Sept 21 - ACCSports.com
ACC football games don't get any bigger than this. At least not in the last five years. Fourth-ranked Florida State hosts No. 10 Clemson Saturday night in a nationally-televised matchup, marking the first time two ACC teams ranked in the top 10 have faced one another since 2007 (Matt Ryan and No. 2 Boston College beat No. 8 Virginia Tech, 14-10, that year). Is Florida State really good enough to be a national title contender? Or is Clemson still the best team in the ACC? This game should give us the answers.

Saturday Viewers Guide: Week 4 - CBSSports.com
I respect you too much to lie to you. As far as weekly matchups have been this season, this week is probably the thinnest of the bunch. Particularly in the morning and afternoon sessions. Just be home in time for the evening games, because that's when just about everything worth watching will be taking place.

During his four years at Southern Miss, Larry Fedora and his team never had the kind of opportunity that East Carolina will have on Saturday at North Carolina's Kenan Stadium. Fedora's Golden Eagles never had a chance to play against Mississippi or Mississippi State, the two in-state Southeastern Conference teams that dominated newspaper headlines, talk radio and public attention. Why Southern Miss never had that chance, Fedora didn't want to say.

It's much too early to predict what kind of impact Notre Dame's pending five-game schedules will have on East Carolina's quest to maintain regular series dates with ACC opponents, but it's safe to assume it will get more difficult. Much of how that issue unfolds will hinge on the ACC's decision about switching from a planned nine-game league schedule to eight.
Notre Dame addition shakes up ACC - Daily Tar Heel
With next year's addition of Pittsburgh to the Atlantic Coast Conference, the league will welcome its first institution based in a landlocked state. But Pennsylvania isn't too far from the Atlantic Ocean. Notre Dame, however, is a different story.

Bubba Cunningham has dealt with many unexpected and serious issues since becoming athletic director at the University of North Carolina last November. But two of the most difficult for Cunningham occurred in the past week. First, the man who hired him, Chancellor Holden Thorp, announced his resignation Monday. Then UNC's Hall of Fame men's basketball coach, Roy Williams, had surgery Wednesday to remove a tumor from his kidney.

ECU needs wins for UNC rivalry to take hold - Wilmington Star News
It's definitely a rivalry. Both teams agree on that much. It's just that the definition of the word is just a little bit different in Chapel Hill then it is in Greenville when it comes to the football series between North Carolina and East Carolina.
